Certified Financial Technician Examination (CFTe)
Dates
NEW! The CFTe I exam is now being offered in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Arabic in July 2010), year-round, at testing centers throughout the world through Pearson VUE, IFTA’s computer-based testing provider.
To register for the CFTe I:
- Fill in the Candidate Eligibility Information data form completing all required data fields, and forward to your local society requesting authorization to test.
- The local society forwards the eligibility data to IFTA , verifying your membership expiration date.
- IFTA will send you an Authorization to Test letter, via email, with further instructions on how to proceed with registration, through Pearson VUE

- Go to, Pearson VUE
- Select “Locate, Find a test center”
- Under “Choose a testing program” select “International Federation of Technical Analysts”
- Select “Country” from drop down list
- Type in desired city
- Click on the “Search” button
To register for CFTe II

Locations
Examinations are regularly given in Cairo, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Zurich, Madrid, Paris, Singapore and many other cities around the world on demand. Exams are also usually given at the site of the Annual IFTA Conference.
Languages
Exams are currently given in Arabic (Level I only), English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Special Arrangements
Examination sites can be set up anywhere in the world. If there are three or more individuals wishing to write the examination in a given city, IFTA will arrange for a site and proctoring. If there are fewer than three individuals, the cost for a site and for proctoring must be borne by the candidate.
Master of Financial Technical Analysis (MFTA)
Dates
Individuals who are seeking entry to the program via the “Alternate Path” are required to submit “Alternate Path pre-application” by either February 28 for the session beginning May 2 or July 31 for the session beginning October 2. If accepted, they must then submit other items according to schedule above.
Languages
MFTA papers must be submitted in English. If a candidate writes the paper in another language, the candidate is responsible for having it translated and submitting translation by the regular deadline.
There are two sessions per year for the MFTA Program. Candidates with CFTe or equivalent, can submit application, fees and proposed research outline on May 2 and completed paper on October 15, or submit application, fees and proposed research outline on October 2 and the finished paper on March 15 of the following year.
